In this episode of Chasing the Insights, I talk to Oswald Newbold II.

Oswald talks to us about the process of co-writing a book that is important to you.

Oswald Newbold II is a criminal justice expert, certified conflict mediator, and social justice advocate whose lived experience fuels his commitment to policy advocacy and reform.

He is the founder of Libra-Life International, a nonprofit organization advancing justice for marginalized communities and system-impacted individuals worldwide. Currently, his work in Kenya centers on legal and policy reforms to strengthen reintegration, expand parole and clemency opportunities, and alleviate prison overcrowding.

In recognition of his leadership, Oswald received the Second Chance Hero Award (2025).

He is a co-author in the book Breaking Chains, Building Futures: Pathways to Redemption, Education, and Excellence. A powerful collection of stories from justice-impacted individuals about how education and mentorship contributed to their success.

Oswald opens the book with the first chapter, The Strength of Healed Wounds: From Trials to Triumph—Rewriting the Narrative of Justice and Purpose.
